HealthSource Solutions Touts Wellbeing Successes with Sourcewell
PRESS RELEASE | Minneapolis, MN, December 5, 2024
HealthSource Solutions has been awarded a Sourcewell contract to offer worksite health and wellbeing services to public sector organizations. By satisfying the competitive bidding process, Sourcewell makes the buying process efficient and affordable.
Sourcewell is a government agency that combines the purchasing power of many agencies into a single cooperative group. Through its contract with Sourcewell, HealthSource Solutions can initiate public sector contracts faster — with streamlined efficiencies for the client, making HealthSource Solutions a more readily accessible resource for public agencies looking to improve their organizations' and employees' health and wellbeing.
“Governments have compliance considerations about making purchases,” says Sourcewell Senior Director of Risk, Benefits, and Insurance Ryan Donovan. “Often, implementing wellness programs takes two to three years before we start seeing the benefits of them, only to then have to redo solicitations and have fear that all the great work and effort that's already been put in will be lost because of a transition. Because HealthSource Solutions has earned a Sourcewell contract, governments can make compliant purchases and keep important programs in place.”
HealthSource Solutions’ Collaborative Solution leverages the strengths of its Worksite Wellbeing Model by bringing together smaller organizations with similar wellness challenges. This approach provides an opportunity for companies to collaborate, share insights, and learn best practices, all while receiving expert guidance from HealthSource Solutions’ experienced account team.
A key success has been our partnership with Minnesota’s The Better Health Collective. Utilizing HealthSource Solutions' Collaborative model, 34 employer members of The Better Health Collective (representing 7000 employees) have been able to offer more robust wellness offerings to support their culture and their employees. The Collaborative model focuses on three core pillars: 1. Build the infrastructure to support a best practice wellness program. 2. Ensure wellness is a part of the culture. 3. Encourage and engage employees to be proactive in their wellbeing. It takes a comprehensive approach to make a difference in employee wellbeing.
“HR and benefit managers wear many, many hats, and although wellness is an important initiative for their organizations, time and capacity is extremely limited, says Casey Schultz, Director of Risk Services for The Better Health Collective. “HealthSource Solutions takes the burden off of the HR manager, stands up wellness programs, and facilitates the collaboration amongst other employers in order to share ideas, be inspired, and develop best practices on behalf of the wellness effort.”
Much of The Better Health Collective's success is attributed to HealthSource Solutions, which actively engages employee populations to focus on health and wellbeing both at work and at home. Since 2019, The Better Health Collective has demonstrated a three-fold increase in engagement with employee health incentive programs and a 20% increase in employees completing health assessments, bringing them well above industry averages. This holistic approach to risk population health management and wellness activity lowers future claims expenses, bringing costs down for both employers and employees.
